2026 FIRST NC FRC Off-Season Events!
Welcome to Doyenne Inspiration!
Founded by FRC 5190 Falcon Fury, Doyenne Inspiration is a FIRST Robotics Competition (FRC) off-season event dedicated to amplifying the voices of female and nonbinary students within the FRC community. Through a powerhouse collaboration with FRC 2642, FRC 3737, and FRC 3506, we have built a platform where these students don’t just participate—they lead. By providing a dedicated space to hone technical and leadership skills, Doyenne Inspiration is closing the gender gap in STEAM and empowering the next generation of innovators to thrive with confidence. Currently led by FRC 5190 and FRC 3506, the initiative continues to advocate for systemic inclusion, ensuring that underrepresented students have the resources and agency to grow into industry leaders.

Welcome to THOR!
THOR was forged in 2013 through the initiative and tireless dedication of four founding FIRST Robotics Competition teams.
FRC 587 – The Hedgehogs (Hillsborough)
FRC 2059 – Hitchhikers (Raleigh)
FRC 2640 – HotBotz (Reidsville)
FRC 3196 – Team SPORK (Mooresville)
Driven by a vision to keep the spirit of innovation alive year-round, these teams laid the groundwork for what has become a cornerstone of the FIRST North Carolina FRC community:
Since those early days, their commitment has fueled countless seasons of high-octane competition and growth. In 2016, THOR entered a new chapter by expanding our collaboration to include additional teams, allowing us to broaden our reach and further strengthen the impact of FIRST across the state. Will you be the next team to host this impactful event?

Why Off-Season Matters
Beyond the trophies and the scoreboard, THOR serves as a vital bridge between competition seasons. Participating in an off-season event provides teams with a unique, low-stakes environment to achieve high-impact goals. Where off-season can help:
-
Skill Development: Students sharpen their technical and leadership abilities in a real-world competition setting.
-
Training Ground: It is the perfect opportunity to onboard new students, giving them hands-on experience before the intensity of the official build season.
-
Recruitment: These events act as a vibrant "open house" to attract prospective students and mentors by showing them the excitement of robotics in action.
-
Educational Showcase: THOR provides a platform to demonstrate the power of STEM to educators and school administrators, highlighting the tangible results of project-based learning.
Our Mission: To provide a world-class FRC off-season experience that inspires students, fosters collaboration, and celebrates the future of STEM in North Carolina.
